Apps not Responding or Spinning Color Wheel or Frozen Screen

  1. If screen has only been frozen for a few moments, wait to see if it loads.
  2. If the screen has been frozen longer than 5 minutes then begin troubleshooting by doing the following:
    1. Click on the Apple in your top menu bar and select Force Quit or press the Command-Option-Esc buttons
    2. Click on the application that says not responding and press the Force Quit button
    3. Log off and restart your computer
    4. If your computer will still not restart,Hold down the power button for 5 seconds to force the computer to turn off.  Important: You may lose unsaved documents if you force the computer to turn off this way. Use this method of turning off your Mac only if it has become unresponsive for an extended period of time. Normally you should shut down the computer by selecting Shut Down from the Apple menu.
    5. Restart Computer
    6. If Pages, Keynote, Numbers Will Not Open or Load
      1.  Go to Filewave and see if there is an update available. An update is available when the install button is active.
      2. If there is no update and the app will still not load, right click or two finger click on "install" in Filewave and select "Reinstall" from the drop down
      3. After reinstall is complete, close Filewave and restart computer, then try launching the application again.
