Connecting Raspberry Pi to ISSMobile

Launch Terminal

cd /etc/network

sudo cp /etc/network/interfaces interfaces.orig

sudo vi interfaces

Make the interfaces file match the following:

auto lo

iface lo inet loopback

iface eth0 inet dhcp

allow-hotplug wlan0

iface wlan0 inet manual

wpa-roam /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf

iface default inet dhcp

Write the file out and close vi

cd /etc/wpa_supplicant

sudo cp /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf wpa_supplicant.conf.orig

sudo vi /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf

***(Note: Do no delete anything in this file that is already there)***

Add the following to the file:

network={

ssid="ISSMobile"

scan_ssid=1

psk="enter the pre-shared key here"

mode=0

proto=WPA2

key_mgmt=WPA-PSK

pairwise=CCMP

group=CCMP

auth_alg=OPEN

id_str="raspi"

priority=1

}

Write out the file and close vi

sudo reboot

Once device has rebooted, you should now be joined to ISSMobile. To verify you have an address, open Terminal and enter ipconfig -a

If you want to check to make sure that your Pi can see ISSMobile, enter the command:

sudo iwlist wlan0 scan essid your_SSID

Your SSID should appear in the results of the scan (you may have to scroll through the results to find it)
