Google Chrome startup is extremely slow and causes the mouse to flicker.

There have been several reports of an issue with Chrome either not loading or taking a very long time to load.  In many cases the mouse flickers and the computer becomes somewhat unresponsive.  This issue is related to a setting in Chrome that allows it to make use of the computers Hardware Graphics Card in order to speed up loading of web pages.  However, on some models of machines this is proving to only slow them down and is causing some to become unresponsive.    Attached you will find instructions on how to turn this feature off and improve the performance of chrome is your computer is experiencing an issue.  As always if you have any questions please contact the IT Help Desk at (980) 549-0549
